“Living on the Wrong Side of Jordan”

Numbers 32:1-5

    I. Some of the tribes decided they wanted to stay on the other side of Jordan (Reuben, Gad & Half tribe of Mannaseh)

        They had forgotten the blessings of God.

        God had promised to give them blessings if they would listen.

   A. They chose the wrong side by Human faith.

   B. They chose the wrong side by human reasoning.

       When you make a decision it doesn’t always make sense.

       They lacked the faith to realize what God had for them.

  II. What is on the right side of Jordan?

        We have the promises of God.

        We have the way of the Lord.

        We will still have battles, but battles make a man.

        God wants to bless obedient children.

III. The danger of living on the right side of Jordan.

       They got prosperous so they forgot where it had come from.
