III. God forbids idolatry.

      Idol- an object of passionate devotion.

      Idol worship – something you put in place of God.

      It may not be bad but if it takes time away from God it’s an idol.

      I John 5:21 – Both sides have the same problem.

      Exo. 15:11 – comparing God to what I want.

      Is it really worth it?

     Deut. 6:14 – We are influenced by what those around us are serving.

     It’s easy to be deceived.

     Eph 5:5 – A covetous man is an idolater.

    Rev. 19:9-10 – John didn’t want to be worshipped.
