“Forgetting what You Have, Looking at what You Don’t Have”

Luke 15:11-32

The Prodigal Son forgot what he had.

I. He left his fortune.

He received his current portion not his future portion.

His brother became sole owner of the farm.

He got a one time gift.

We have worldly influence in our children’s life.

II. He left his family.

You will not gain as much fortune when coming back if you would have stayed.

You will always have someone telling you what to do.

Am I willing to allow my parents to tell me what to do in your best interest or am I willing to allow the world to tell you what to do?

You have it better at the house than you know.

He left the instruction of his father.

He left the mentor of his father

III. He lost his food.

He had need of nothing when he was at the father’s house.

There is nothing you need in this world.

This world is not kind to a Christian that has left the church.

Don’t forget what You have!
