“A Pit I will Never Forget”

Psalm 40:1-4

     I. The picture of the pit. Vs. 2

          It is a horrible pit.

    II. The pain of this pit. VS. 1

          All the noises as I cried out for help.

  III. The pit.

          A dungeon; vile agitation of your mind.

         The may be in the horrible pit of:

         Music, pride, the past – don’t let what you have done in the past hinder you from getting saved.

  IV. The pull of the pit.

        Miry clay- deep mud or slush.

        The longer I stay the deeper I sink.

        Even when you get saved, the pit is still trying to pull you.

  V. His presence in the pit.

       He stretched out and offered to help.

       He brought me up.

       If you’re going to be the Dad you need to be, you will never forget the pit!
